Virtual Youth Choir

Who is this program for?

The Virtual Youth Choir is for students age 8-13 who are passionate about music in a choral setting and focused on creating group video performances with eachother remotely.

Description

Each student will effectively learn and execute music in a choral setting through a new and innovative experience.  Repertoire will consist of choral music from all different eras including jazz and traditional music.

Dates & Times

Type: Ongoing program with no specific end date

Frequency: Meets 2 times per Week

Days: Tuesday & Thursday

Times: 11 am - 12 pm

Virtual Youth choir Curriculum 

Each month there will be a new set of music to be learned for a “virtual pre-produced video concert” at the end of the month. These performances will be shared on our website and our social media platforms. Each student will have access to weekly LIVE Zoom rehearsals and tracks to help them learn their music in an efficient manner along with training and support from your instructors.

Supplies & Devices

  • Smartphone, Tablet, or Laptop to use for attending Zoom rehearsals
  • Wired Earbuds
  • Second device to listen to guide tracks with earbuds while recording into your primary recording device
  • Zoom App on your device
  • Printed out music 
  • Writing Utensil

PRICING

  • Monthly - $175 (Prorated weekly for late sign-ups)
    Minimum Students: 8
    Maximum Students: 30

    • * Please note that CHMA charges a one time $25 registration fee for each individual program.

Meet Your DIRECTORs

Hannah Kauffmann is a classically trained soprano from St. Louis, Missouri. Kauffmann has sung with many companies including Chicago Summer Opera (Turn of the Screw, Riders to the Sea), Winter Opera of St. Louis (L’elisir d’amore, The Merry Widow, Carmen), Union Avenue Opera (Nabucco), and American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. One of her favorite roles she has performed is The Wardrobe in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville’s SummerFest .

Kauffmann has been actively teaching both privately and in the public sector since 2016. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education in Vocal and Instrumental music from Culver-Stockton College, and a Master of Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Iowa.
